Kaunas day trip - the unsung Hero

You will be picked from Vilnius bu a comfortable minibus and will head straight to Kaunas. In a little bit more than an hour you will meet your local guide and will be walking in a city that was a temporary capital while Vilnius was under the Polish rule between the World Wars.

You will start with a Castle and the Oldtown remembering medieval days and then walk our way to the Center, where the modern history of Kaunas starts. You will admire its old and modern architecture and find out why it was selected as a candidate to be included in the UNESCO world's heritage list.

You will visit Zaliakalnis one of the greenest and most beautiful districts of Kaunas where you will have a ride up in a legendary funicular which is one of the oldest in Europe and operating till this day.

End your tour on the rooftop of an impressive modernistic church and have the best views afforded from the roof.

After the city tour you will have some free time with the availability to explore more by yourself or have lunch. In the evening you will be transferred back to Vilnius
