Sobre esta atividade
The guide will meet you at the Qutub Minar ticket Counter. As we enter the complex we will first visit the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque. Founded by the first Delhi sultan, Qutbuddin Aibak, this grand mosque is known to be the first building in the Qutub Complex. Then the guests can view the iron pillar standing at the center of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque. The Iron Pillar is undeniably among one of the most famous heritage attractions in Delhi and within the Qutub Complex. Then comes the Alai darwaza, which was later added by Alauddin Khilji and conceived to be the main gateway to the ambitious extension of Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque.

From here the guests can witness the great iconic buildings of the 13th century, like Qutub Minar, this majestic cylindrical tower that continues to be a symbol of fortitude and architectural brilliance of the country and the capital city of Delhi. Alauddin khalji’s tomb & madrasa was a Madrasa (educational institution) and also his own tomb in the same complex. Iltutmish’s tomb built by the emperor himself in sits along the north-west corner of the Qutub Complex. Interestingly, one of the first tombs to be built in the city, it fulfills Iltutmish’s desire to be placed where he ruled and secondly to be close to the dargah (shrine) in Mehrauli. Alai minar is an incomplete minar that lies within the northern boundaries of the Qutub Complex evidently symbolizes the supremacy and might of the sultan of the Khalji Dynasty, Alauddin Khalji.

Then we walk across to visit the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. As we enter Archaeological Park, the guests will first visit Balban’s tomb a sultanate period structure situated on the western side of the Park. Then the guests will be taken to Jamali kamali mosque & tomb which belongs to a Sufi saint and listen to stories of his life. As the guests come out of Jamali Kamali, they will witness Metcalfe's folly which stands on an artificial mound close to the gate and was added by Thomas Metcalfe to the landscape of the park. Then the guests will visit Tomb of Quli khan which is known for its architectural grandeur but the most interesting fact is the changes brought around by the British gentleman Metcalfe. The guests will have a relaxed time at Rajon ki baoli & adjacent mosque, which is a three-storied step-well built during the Lodi period and we will end the tour with some beautiful stories.
